Nintendo's Switch may be the rising star of the gaming scene, but make no mistake, Sony's PlayStation 4 is the biggest console in the world—nothing else comes close. If you're thinking of buying a new system, the PS4 is a great choice. Even though the PlayStation 5 is in the works, the PS4 has a robust library of games and isn't going anywhere in the near future. Plus, if your friends own any console, it's likely the PS4, and it's home to most of the top games of the last five years.
Below are the best bundle deals and cheap prices we could find on the PS4, PS4 Pro (an upgraded PS4 for 4K TVs), and PlayStation VR. We've included a bunch of retailers to give you some options if various bundles sell out. We'll update this list periodically, so check back if you're waiting for the right price, and be sure to read our Best PS4 Accessories, Best Plug-In Gaming Headsets, and Best Wireless Gaming Headsets if you're on the hunt for gear. We also gathered our favorite PS4 games.
Updated for Fall 2019: We added new links when products were sold out, corrected prices, and deleted some discontinued products.

If you own a 4K TV, pick up the PlayStation 4 Pro (8/10, WIRED Recommends) instead of the standard. It isn't a massive upgrade, but many games will get enhanced frame rates, load times, or resolution bumps. The differences are subtle, but it is the premium PS4. The PS4 Slim is also known as a "standard" or "regular" PS4. Both systems play all PS4 games just fine on all types of TVs.
PS4 Pro 1 TB Console for $350 from GameStop ($378 from Amazon)
PS4 Slim 1 TB Console for $289 from Walmart ($300 from GameStop, $300 from Best Buy)
Our favorite accessory for the PS4 is the PlayStation VR. It's the most popular virtual reality headset in the world, and there are a number of games that support it in the PlayStation Store. One thing to remember when purchasing is that you will need the PlayStation Camera to use PSVR. Make sure you already own one if you buy it without a camera.
PSVR + Camera + Motion Controllers + 2 Games for $349 (Also $270 at Best Buy and GameStop)
PSVR + Camera + 2 Games for $273 (Also at Best Buy for $350 and Walmart for $284.)
PSVR Aim Gun Controller + Game for $71 (Also at Best Buy, GameStop, Target, and Walmart)
PSVR Aim Motion Controller for $60 (Also at Walmart)
PlayStation Move Motion Controllers (2 Pack) for $100 (Also at GameStop)
These bundles aren't available anymore, but you can still find some third-party sellers offering them new or used, though they cost a pretty penny. Prices will frequently vary on these.
PS4 Slim 'Days of Play' Edition for $365 ($383 from Walmart)
PS4 Pro 1TB + God of War Limited Edition for $789+ (Also at Walmart)
To help get you started, here are just a few great games you may want to check out on PS4 or PS4 Pro. We've listed more of our favorite PS4 games here.
