One of my favorite sets of headphoness just got a little bit favorite-er. The Koss PortaPro dates back to those dark ages of stonewashed denim and shoulder pads, the 1980s. The simple folding cans, with their thin metal headband and amazing-sounding earpieces have always been a bargain at $50, both comfortable and open enough to still hear your surroundings. Now, they have been updated with an inline mic and controls.
Designed specifically to work with iDevices, the new PortaPro KTC (Koss Touch Control), the new headphoness should work with any modern cellphones. A mic lets you make calls and switches let you shuffle songs and control volume.
It's rare that I put a product release date on my calendar, but I'm getting a pair of these as soon as they launch. That said, the launch date of "Spring" is a little too vague for my iCal. Price TBA.
